Today is “Dress Down to Build others Up” Friday when staff members wear school or more casual clothing and donate money to others in need.

Congratulations to the Premier girls on a great finish to their basketball season last night.  They defeated Coloniale to win bronze  - Great effort ladies and thanks for a great season.

Talk Club, Newcomer’s Group and the block 6 Boys group will all be meeting today at thier regular time in the library conference room.

All students who are participating in the Journal Games tomorrow, please meet Mme McCallion right after announcements.  This is very important.

The SWAT team will not be meeting today due to PIE DAY activities.

The FAVE challenge (Fruit and Vegetable Eating Challenge) begins Monday. Your mission is to track how many servings of fruits and vegetables you eat for one week. The class with the highest overall average will be given complimentary passes to the Beaumont Aqua-Fit. Details and tracking sheets will be found in your Report Card Envelope.

Congratulations to the Premier Boys basketball team on a great season.  They lost a close game last night and won the silver medal.  Your coaches are very proud of you.
 
Congratulations also goes out to the district boys for winning bronze last night!  Great job on an outstanding season.

This is a big day for your math teachers!  It’s like Christmas for math nerds!  It is the third month and the fourteenth day.  That’s 3.14,  Happy Pi Day to everyone.

Junior High Students, Pi Day is tomorrow! Pay 2 dollars and throw a pie at a teacher on Friday at lunch. I overheard Mr. Mistol saying that he has seen a lot of you throw and that he isn’t very worried about getting hit this year. Buy a pie and prove him wrong.

Great job Premier Girls! they scored 10 unanswered points to tie their game against Wetaskiwin last night and take it into overtime. Unfortunately we lost but get to play for bronze on Thursday.  Good luck on Thursday.

Same goes to the district boys.  They made a huge comeback last night but came up just a little bit short, losing by 2 points against Leduc Jr. High. Good luck in the bronze medal game.
Congratulations to the Premier Boys basketball team who have qualified for the league gold medal game on Thursday.  Good luck boys.

Reminder to Home ec students - THIS IS THE LAST WEEK TO COMPLETE SEWING/ Textiles PROJECTS. The room is open every morning at 7:30 am and tonight, Wednesday, and Thursday after school. All textiles projects are due on Friday. No projects will be accepted after this Friday.  This is the same deadline for all art 7 projects.

Congratulations to our Science Olympians who had a great showing at our first visit to the Science Olympics this weekend.  Our students performed well and represented J.E. Lapointe VERY well.  Olympians, please remember to wear your shirt on THURSDAY and to come to Mr. Slade’s room at 12:10 today.

Mr. Slade would like his Tech Ed students to check their updated marks on PowerSchool today.  Some assignments still need to be handed in ASAP.

Jasper Ski Trip - Mrs. Nessel, Ms Girard , Mrs. Nichols and Mrs. Flontek would like to thank all of the students that participated on the Jasper Ski Trip for making it such a awesome trip.
Students that did not get on the bus or had to cancel will be getting a refund in the near future.
Thanks again to all that attended. A wonderful day was had by all.

The Home ec room is open today , tomorrow and Thursday after school as well as every morning at 7:30 am. All projects are due on or before March 12, which is the last day of class. NO LATE PROJECTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Mrs. Baron’s Outdoor Ed active Living class is reminded to change for swimming during the morning break today. Do not ask to leave your period 4 class to change. The bus will be leaving the school at 11:30, so please ask to leave class at 11:25am this morning so you can get your coat and towel from your locker.

Also do not forget to have your parents complete the online waiver form for Launch Pad on Wednesday. You cannot participate if the form is not completed ahead of time.
