Monday, January 30 - Day 1

• The  Jasper Ski trip is almost sold out. Only 8 spots remaining. Get your money and forms into Mrs. Nessel so that you are not disappointed.

• Money and forms are due by Thursday for anyone attending next Tuesday night’s Rabbit Hill Ski club trip.

• If you would like to purchase a badminton racquet, please see Mr. Mistol.  The deadline to purchase is this Friday.

• Today is the last day to sign up for mini basketball.  Try-outs will be this Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.

• Premier Girls and Boys basketball practice after school.

• Journal  Games Relay practice today at noon in the gym.

• The home ec room will be open at 7am every morning this week, for anyone that wants to come in and sew. This is the LAST WEEK that the home ec room will be open to complete projects.

• Please welcome Miss Binder to JE Lapointe.  She will be a student-teacher with Mr. Slade and Mrs. Dorash over the next six weeks.

• All band members are reminded to hand in their January theory and practice duotangs today.

• Day 2 Choir practice is Wednesday at 12 noon in the music room.

• Jazz Band practice will be Thursday.

• Day 4 Choir practice will be Friday.

• There are some bake sale items left over from last Friday’s bake sale. They will be sold again TODAY in the music room over the lunch hour. If you have a dollar or two, come down and see Mrs. Baron. 

Friday, January 27, 2012 -Day 5

• All band members are reminded to complete and hand in their January Theory and Practice by Monday, Jan. 30^th please.

• There will be a BAKE SALE TODAY in the front of the school during the lunch hour in support of the Grade 7 & 8 Band trip. Junior high can come down to buy at 12 and elementary at 12:30. All goodies will be $1.00 and juice boxes will be 2 for $1.00. Any extra milk will also be available to buy for $1 or $2.

• Congratulations to all of our basketball teams, both premier and district, for great efforts in last night’s games!

• Premier Girls basketball practice at 12:25 today and at 3:20 on Monday.

• Journal Games practice today at noon for those who would like to be timed a second time.

• The Home Ec room will be open Monday morning at 7:30 a.m. for those who wish to sew.

Thursday, January 26, 2012 - Day 4

• There are some extra white and chocolate milk left over from Milk Monday. See Mrs. Baron at noon or the junior high morning break if you are interested in buying one. They are $1 for a small and $2 for a large.

• Day 4 Choir is today @ 12 noon in the music room.

• All band members are reminded to complete and hand in their January Theory and Practice by Monday, Jan. 30^th please.

• There will be a BAKE SALE tomorrow during the lunch hour in support of the Grade 7 & 8 Band trip. All goodies will be $1.00 and juice boxes will be 2 for $1.00. There will also be white and chocolate milk at the bake sale. $1 for a small and $2 for a large.

• Music festival solos, duets and groups are reminded to meet with Mrs. Baron to choose your music today at 12:30 or anytime during the lunch hour tomorrow.

• There will be a drop in junior high girls badminton practice tomorrow morning at 7:15 am. Girls interested in playing on the badminton team, please attend.

• Journal Games Relay race practice today at noon in the gym.

• Would all premier boys and girls basketball players please meet in Mr. Slade’s room at 12:20.  There is a short, but important meeting.

• Only 10 spots left on the Jasper ski trip. So get your forms and money in to Mrs. Nessel so that you aren’t disappointed.

• Rabbit Hill ski club forms and money are due Feb. 2 if you want to go on the next ski night. Please bring these down to Mrs. Nessel.

• The Home Ec room will be open Friday morning at 7:30 for anyone wanting to sew.

Wednesday, January 25, 2012 - Day 3

• District boys basketball practice @ 3:15pm today.

• Premier boys basketball practice today at noon.

• The sign up sheets for mini boys and girls are up on the athletic board.  Intramurals will begin next week.

• Jazz band is today @ 12:20 in the music room.

• Day 4 Choir is tomorrow @ 12 noon in the music room.

Tuesday, January 24, 2012 - Day 2

• Premier girls practice tonight: 3:25 – 4:45.

• The sign-up sheets for Mini-boys and Mini-girls basketball are up on the athletic board.  Intramurals for Gr. 5 and gr. 6 students will start next week.

• Journal Games practice today at noon in the gym.

• Premier boys basketball meeting in room 109 at 12:20.

• All Rabbit Hill ski club members are to meet in the front doors at 3:45 with all of your gear. The bus will leave at approximately 4pm. You will be permitted to come back into the school to grab homework so please do not bring that with you.

• Home ec room open tonight and tomorrow night until 4:30 for students that want to finish projects. This is the last 2 nights the room will be open and all projects are due on Friday.

• Jasper ski trip is selling fast – over half  sold , so make sure to get your money and forms to Mrs. Nessel so that you are not disappointed.

• District girls basketball practice tomorrow morning at 7:20 a.m.

Monday, January 23, 2012 - Day 1

• Junior high students participating in the study buddy program are expected to show up for the time and date assigned. If you cannot then you must talk to your hosting teacher to ensure that a buddy is not left waiting for you. Teachers please let Mrs. Nessel know if your buddies are not showing up.

• Rabbit Hill ski club please meet at the front doors tomorrow at 3:45pm. Sign up deadline for the next trip is Thursday, Feb. 2.

• Please bring your forms down to Mrs. Nessel as soon as you can for the Jasper ski trip as it is selling fast.

• The home ec room will be open tonight until 4pm for any students that want to work on projects. It will be open Tues. and Wed until 4:30pm. This is your last week to get projects completed.

• Premier girls basketball please meet in rm 103 for a quick meeting at 12:20.  We need to make travel arrangements for our game on Thursday.

• District boys basketball practice today @ noon!

• Today is Milk Monday. Homeroom teachers are asked to send down a runner to pick up the milk at 12 noon please. There will be extra milk available to buy outside the home ec room as well.

• Day 2 Choir is tomorrow at 12 noon in the music room.

Friday, January 20, 2012 - Day 5

• There will be a meeting for all the junior high band members that are performing in Ottawa. Please bring your lunch to the music room at 12 noon TODAY, so you can eat while the meeting is going on.

• A reminder for all band members that your January band practice and January theory are due Monday, Jan. 30^th. Please make sure everything is filled out, signed and handed in by then.

• Congratulations to the premier boys and girls basketball teams on strong efforts in their first games of the season last night.  Listen to announcements for the next home game and come out and cheer on the Sabres!

• Premier girls basketball practice today at noon.

• District girls basketball practice Monday morning at 7:20 a.m.

• The Home ec room is closed tonight for sewing. It will be open again next week for students to come in and finish their projects.

• Rabbit hill ski club – If you are planning on going with the club on Tuesday night you MUST turn in your money and forms to Mrs. Nessel today.

• Jasper ski trip forms are now available from the bulletin board outside of the staff room door by Ms. Stewart’s room. Your name is placed on the trip registration sheet on a first come , first served basis. Please give your forms and money to Mrs. Nessel.

Thursday, January 19, 2012 -Day 4

• Good luck to all Jr. High basketball teams tonight.  The premier teams are playing here at J.E.L., while the district teams are travelling to Pigeon Lake. 

• There will be a brief meeting for all district boys basketball players at noon.  Please meet at Mr. Mistol’s office.

• A reminder to all Elementary girls….you will be going skating next week for P.E. 

• Rabbit Ski Club - All money and forms for Tuesday night’s ski trip must be handed in today to Mrs. Nessel.

• The Home Ec room will be open tonight after school until 4:15 for any students that want to work on projects. Next week is your last class to finish projects.

• Jasper Ski trip forms will be available today at lunch. Please check the bulletin board outside the staff room door by Ms. Stewart’s room. Make sure that you take the right form as the Rabbit Hill forms are also there.

• Would the Premier Boys Basketball Team please meet in Mr. Slade’s room at 12:25.

Wednesday, January 18, 2012 - Day 3

• Jazz band practice is today at lunch. Band members should eat their lunch in their homerooms and then come for practice at 12:20.
• Choir practice is tomorrow at 12 in the music room.
• Premier boys basketball practice at 12:00 sharp.  
• District boys basketball practice at 3:15pm today.  Please hand in your permissions slips and fees.
• Rabbit Hill ski club - If you are planning on going next Tuesday night you must turn in your forms and money by tomorrow.
• Jasper Ski Trip - forms will be available tomorrow. Look for them in the pocket outside the staff room door.
• District basketball games - Due to the weather there is a chance these games may be cancelled. Coaches and players will be advised as soon as we find out more information.
• Donations - due to the extreme weather and a need for warm clothing, a group of parents have organized a drop box for donations for the Hope Mission, please consider donating the following new or gently used items as soon as possible: coats, gloves, boots and socks. They would like to take the first round of donations on Friday but will continue collecting over the next week.

Tuesday, January 17, 2012 - Day 2

• The Home Ec room will be open for any students that want to stay after school to complete projects. Next week is the last week of module 2 for the grade 8’s and term 1 sewing for the grade 7’s.

• Rabbit Hill ski club forms for Tuesday, Jan. 24 are due no later than Thursday of this week. Please hand in your forms and money to Mrs. Nessel.

• Day 2 Choir practice is today at 12 in the music room

Jazz band practice is tomorrow at lunch. Band members should eat their lunch in their homerooms and then come for practice at 12:20.

• All district boys must hand in their basketball permissions slips to Mr. Mistol by tomorrow.  Also, a reminder that there is a practice Wednesday after school.
