Tuesday, May 31

  • The Grade 8 Silhouettes Farewell Project is due Wed. June 1st at noon. You can go see Mme Morin  in the Tec. Ed. Room at lunch time to finish it. Please hand in all silhouettes to Mme Morin, merci!
  • Debate practice will run tomorrow at lunch for all debaters.  Please have most of the work on your speeches done when you come to practice.  There will be a practice Thursday at lunch as well, and Friday at lunch and also after school. 
  • The home ec room will be open today after school from 3:15 – 4:30 pm for any students that want to work on their projects. The room will not be open on Wednesday due to early dismissal.
  • Any Elementary Track student who would like to try out for long jump, please meet at the long jump pits by the ball diamond at noon.
  • Junior High track athletes - Good Luck in Wetaskiwin!
  • Dieleman fundraising orders are now in, parents please stop by the office to pick up. If you'd like your order sent home with your child, please send a note or call the office 780-929-5977. Thank you!

  • The home ec room will be open until 4:30 pm after school today for students that would like to work on projects.
  •  Elementary Track Practice.  Please meet on the soccer field at noon.  You will be timed for the 50 m race.
  • All Jr. High track and field forms must be handed in to Mr. Mistol or Mrs. Dorash today.
  • There will be a jazz band practice today for all members at noon in the music room
  • There will be a quick meeting for all junior high track participants at 10:30 in the gym. If you are attending the meet tomorro, you must attend.
  • Please check the boot racks for your winter boots.

  • The Home ec lab will be open after school, from 3:15 – 4:30 pm starting Monday, May 30 until Thursday, June 9 for students that would like to complete home ec projects. All assignment are due no later than Friday, June 17. Please listen to announcements to confirm that the lab will be open that day.
  • There will be a debate practice today at lunch.  All debaters need to bring their lunches and duotangs to room 112.
  • Any students, either elementary or junior high, who can help chair and time the debate tournament on june 8, please see Ms. Chromiak in room 112.
  • Jazz Band practice is cancelled today due to the Grade 6 field trip and is rescheduled for Monday at lunch.
  • Junior High track: long jump and triple jump practice at 12:20; throwing events meet at the ball diamond at 12:20 as well
  • Track meet forms are to be turned in to Mrs. Dorash today.

    Congratulations to all of the students who participated in the Hershey Track Meet in Leduc last night.  Well done!  All of our athletes are now also qualified for the Provincial Track Meet on June 18.  Good job!

  • The home ec lab will be open afterschool , from 3:15 – 4:30 pm, starting Monday, May 30 for gr. 7 sewing students and grade 8 module 3 – 4  that would like to come in to work on projects. The lab will be open after school until Thursday, June 9.  Please listen to morning announcements to confirm that the lab is available that evening. All projects must be completed and handed in no later than Friday, June 17  to be marked.
  • The ball hockey option will take place in the gym during P.4.
  • All Jr. High boys and girls interested in trying out for the 1500m and 3000m run need to sign up with Mr. Mistol during the morning break.
  • There is a meeting tonight for Grade 5 students and parents. This meeting is about Grade 6 band next year. Only parents and students involved in Grade 6 band next year should come.
  • Elementary track practice will be tomorrow. Students participating in the Hershey Track Meet tonight, please meet in Mme McCallion’s room during the last recess.
  • Please do not remove construction pylons, they are there for everyone’s safety.

  • Boys 100m finals are today at noon. Can the following boys please meet at the soccer field: Austin Whitton, Craig Glockzin, Vinod Bhimraj, Colton Vanstone, Makarthy Bridges, Kellen Morris, Brenden McCallion and Austin St. Louis
  • Junior High Girls 400m and long jump finals today at noon. Jumpers meet at the pit, runners on the field.
  • Elementary long jump tryouts today at noon. Please meet by the long jump pits. Any students between 8 and 14 years old interested in the Hershey Track Meet, please come and see Mme McCallion at the break.
  • Band trip - Students did exceedingly well, and came home with a Silver award.
  • Grade 7 - Health Heroes pizza lunch today at the picnic tables.

Debate practice runs today at lunch, and again from 3:30 – 4:30.  Elementary debaters will be assigned their argument sides today.  Please bring your lunches, and come prepared to work!
Ms. Chromiak is still looking for volunteer chair people and timers for the tournament on June 8.  Please let her know immediately if you’re interested in helping. THERE WILL BE LOTS OF AWESOME SNACKS for all of our volunteers!

  • If you’re interested in a French camp.  There is an arts and crafts camp for ages 12 to 16 years old.  We have pamphlets  at the office.

  • Elementary track practice today at noon, please meet on the soccer field.

  • Grade 6 French Immersion students will be writing PAT’s in the library from 9:00-11:30am, the library will be closed at this time. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Jr. High boys 400 m finals will be today at 12 noon.  (NOT 12:20pm).   The following boys have qualified: Tim Belma, Craig Glockzin, Oriano Hauge, Colton Vanstone, Kellen Morris, Makarthy Bridges and Andrew Gidosh.

  • Pizza party winners! Congratulations to Mlle Girard’s elementary class and Mrs. Nessel’s junior high class for turning in their completed registration packages first. Date to be determined.

  • Good luck to the Junior High Band as they travel to BC tomorrow for Musicfest Nationals!
  • Congratulations to the elementary students who participated in the High Jump competition in New Sarepta on Friday.  J.E. Lapointe was very well represented!  We don’t have the results yet, but we do know that Cody Matkea placed second with a jump of 1 meter 36, and Nathan Klapstein broke the district record with a jump of 1 meter 63.  Congratulations to all of you!
  • Elementary track practice will be tomorrow at noon, not today.
  • Please return registration forms as soon as possible.
  • Jr. & Intermediate girls 400m today at noon.

Reminder for Elementary Track – There is a practice today.  Please meet in the gym at noon.  Please hand in your permission forms and t-shirt order forms to Mme McCallion as soon as possible.
There will be a jazz band practice today at 12 noon for all members in the music room. All members must attend.
There will be a choir practice tomorrow at 12 noon.
April practice sheets are due for Band 6, 7 & 8 students. Please get them to Mrs. Baron as soon as possible please.
The school talent show will be taking place June 24th. Sign-up sheets will be posted in the music room this week and auditions will be taking place during the first two weeks of June.
Debate practice runs today at lunch and also tonight after school, from 3:30 – 4:30. Elementary students are expected to be in room 112 at 12:30, ready to work!  Please hand in your permission forms to Ms. Chromiak by lunch today.
Any junior high students who are interested in chairing or timing at the debate tournament on June 8, please see Ms. Chromiak today.
There will be no Junior High girls track today at noon.
Construction for the new portables will be continuing today. We are asking all students to remain clear of the area outside the pylons.

Students who are interested in running the Ring Road after school, please meet in the front foyer after school ready to run. We will be running every Tuesday and Thursday. Come and get in shape!

Elementary students who have signed up for the Elementary Track Meet, please come to Mme McCallion’s room (Room 113) during the first recess.

A reminder that all junior high students will be writing the written portion of their LA final exam this morning, from 8:30 – 10:30. We ask that all elementary students be extra quiet when walking past a junior high classroom.

Debate practice will run tomorrow at lunch, and again after school from 3:30 – 4:30. Any debaters who have not turned in their permission forms MUST do so by tomorrow!
Contruction has begun for two of the three portables we are receiving for next year.  Please stay outside of the pylons around the hill in the playground.
