Attention all grade 6 students!  The sign up sheets to try out for mini-basketball is now up on the athletic board just outside of the gym.  Try-outs will start next week.

Student Wellness Action Team (SWAT) will be meeting at 12:05 in room 122. Bring your lunch.

Mr. Mistol’s 7BC PE class will be outside for class today.  Please meet in Mr. Slade’s bootroom.

The Classy threads orders are in, so if you ordered one please come and pick it up so that you can wash your fabric before the next class. The home ec room will be open today after school and every morning at 7:30 am and at noon.

September practice sheets are due from all band members by Friday please.

Grade 6, 7 & 8 band members have one more week to hand in September practice. Please get yours signed and handed in!

Mrs. Baron’s active living class is reminded to meet in the music room with swimsuit and towel for today’s class at the pool. The bus will BE LEAVING at 10:45, so come to the music room right at the start of your breaK for attendance. You DO NOT need to bring your lunch, as we will be back for the regular lunch hour.

MOvember begins in just over a week and to help raise money towards supporting men’s health the male staff at JE will be growing moustaches.  Do you want to be the one to shave it into a funky or ugly pattern at the end of November?  Give any male teacher a loonie to enter your name in a draw to shave off the stash!
Perry Rai is participating so be sure to encourage Mr. Mistol to do so, as well!

Classy threads orders are due today. If you were planning on ordering a sewing kit please make sure to bring your money and order form to Mrs. Nessel.
If you forgot and want to order please come and talk to Mrs. Nessel BEFORE the end of the day.

There will be another choir practice today in preparation for the upcoming Remembrance Day assembly. Choir members are asked to bring, and eat, their lunch in the music room at 12:05, as Mrs. Baron will be a few minutes late coming from the pool with her Active Living class.

Outdoor Ed will be going camping this weekend, lets hope for good weather!

But this is not your typical bake sale, the items being sold are all products that the students have designed and printed using the 3D Printer. Prices range from 50 cents to 5 dollars for such items as pencil toppers, rulers, pencil holders, iPhone cases, and locker decorations. Our vendors will be lining the main hallways, so walk a lap and buy something fun.

The Home Ec Room will be closed after school.

Today, Monday Oct. 20 is National Librarian’s Day.  We would like to thank our librarian, Ms. Kotyk, for all that she does to keep reading and learning a regular part of our school.  We wish you a great Librarian’s Day!


Reminder to all home ec students that your theory packages are due this week. Foods packages are required to cook. The room is open every morning at 7:30 am and select days afterschool for anyone that wants to workl on projects or theory packages. Fridays the room is closed afterschool.

A reminder to all SWAT students… please hand in your information sheets to Ms Gervais. If you missed seeing her this morning at the front entrance, you can drop off your info sheet in room 122 at the beginning of period 1.

Some of the anti-spam letters that went home with students and need to be returned, signed by parents, have still not been returned.  Teachers, please send any letters that have been returned from your students to the office this morning.  Also, please remind any remaining students that it is very important that we get these letters returned.  Thank you.

District & Premier Boys - Volleyball practice today after school

Students please check your backpacks for the anti spam letter that was sent home, please bring your signed copy to the office asap.

Reminder to all home ec students . we will be switching foods and textiles next week so all theory packages must be done before the switch.

The home ec room is open every morning at 7:30 am and most days after school until 4pm. Anyone that wants to work on home ec projects or even just homework is welcome. The room is not open after school on Fridays.

Congratulations to the premier girls volleyball team for winning all of their games against Dansereau last night. Well done! There will be a premier girls volleyball meeting in Mrs. Kay’s room at the morning break.

The Premier Boys Volleyball Team have continued their winning streak by  defeating Christ The King School yesterday during League Play. Boys, tomorrow’s practice has been moved to Friday morning at 7:15am.

Congratulations to the Premier Boys Volleyball Team for winning Gold at the F.R. Haythorne Volleyball Tournament this past weekend. The 12 team tournament included mostly Sherwood Park and Edmonton teams so it is good to see that our Town of Beaumont can compete with the big city teams. The boys continued to improve their skills with each game at the tourney and Mr. Bohun wants to continue that trend with a practice today after school.

Congratulations to the Premier Girls’ Volleyball team for winning Silver at the F.R. Haythorne tournament this past weekend. The girls really pulled together as a team. Way to go girls!

Band members are invited to practice today over the lunch hour. Grade 7 & 8’s can use the Tech Ed Room. Grade 6 students are to use the music room, and the conference room. This is for any students needing help or those that need to get some practice time in.

Mrs. Baron’s Active Living class is reminded that you need to change for your option class today. You will be walking to SNAP fitness, so please be dressed appropriately.

Mr. Mistol’s sport select option will be going outside today so please dress warm. We will be meeting in the gym before going outside.

Students are reminded that the doors do no open until 8:20, please dress for the weather.

Congratulations to the grade 6 classes on surpassing your goal of 200 blankets collected for Y.E.S.S.

All students in grade 6-8 are welcome to try out for a Cheer Team.  the try-outs will be held at Coloniale Estates School from 3-5 pm on Thursday, October 2.  For more information, see the poster in the hallway by the staffroom door.
