Today is Christmas sweater day, tomorrow is PJ day.

Thank-you to the Me to We and JE students for supporting our hot chocolate sale for Taylor. We raised $128.50!

We will be holding another sale  Friday at lunch and it will be extra chocolatey.

The prize will be a Tim Horton’s gift basket including a $20 gift card!

Thanks to Sobey's for donating the hot chocolate, marshmallows, candy canes and milk.

It was so nice to see how many girls were interested in going to STEAM. Unfortunately, only 4 are able to attend. 

If you signed up for Yearbook this year, please be advised that you can work on it during period 3 of Flex this week. Please see Mrs. Buzak for more details.

Last call for Term 1 art projects, any art projects left in the home ec room after today will be recycled.
Term 1 Home ec students are reminded to pick up home ec projects as well.

There will be no Jazz band tomorrow.

December 14, 2018- Day 5

Reminder Monday is Crazy Hair day.

Congratulations to Mr. Slade’s class who did NOT win the Christmas Elves competition!  Instead, Mrs. Buzak’s 8A won the ice cream cake for raising 1670 points!  Your ice cream cake is coming next week!  Well done Buzakians!

Important FLEX info:
Grade 8 sign up block 1 or 2, grade 9 block 3 or 4, grade 7 lunch or later
The grade 7 and 8 Christmas Escape Room is a two block session, you must choose it for block 3 and 4.
If you would like to watch the BHA Christmas Cup game at the KNRCC you need to sign up for both blocks 3 and 4.
If you sign up for skating you need SKATES and a helmet!

Junior girls basketball practice today at 3:10pm

Congrats to all the band members for their great performances last night. Thank you to the teachers and administration that came out to support the band. A very special thanks to students who helped clean up the percussion equipment and bass amps after the concert was over. Your help was greatly appreciated!


If you missed the meeting for STE(A)M yesterday and are interested in attending the conference, you need to get a paragraph to Mme Goudreau by the end of the day outlining what makes you a good candidate to attend.

If you are in gr. 8 or 9 and ordered a classy threads kit please come to the Home Ec. room to pick up your fabric to wash it before class.

A reminder that the Christmas Concert is happening tonight in the gym at 7pm and everyone is invited to attend. The front doors of the school will open for band students and parents at 6:30pm.
A reminder that the gym will be set up for the concert during period 6. 

3rd day of Fitmas

Grade 7 Boys basketball team - meet in the gym at the 10:25 break for a short meeting.

STEM meeting today at lunch in Mme Goudreau’s room for all girls interested in science, engineering and math. Only 4 girls can attend, so if you’re interested, you need to attend today.

Home ec and art students from term 1 are asked to pick up their projects. Any art left not picked up by the end of the week will be recycled.

Soap stone carving students from term1 - see Mrs Buzak so we can go down to the IA room and you can pick up your sculpture

Would all classes please do their final points calculations and deliver their goods for Christmas Elves to the front foyer this morning please.

Ms. Gervais’ health classes please bring pencil crayons and or felt pens to class today.

The band room is open for practice today and tomorrow for any students wanting to get in some last minute concert practice time.

Jazz band practice is 7:30am on Wednesday morning this week

The Christmas band concert is this Thursday night at 7pm. The Grade 7 band, the Grade 8/9 band and the high school band will be performing. Everyone is invited to attend!

Junior girls basketball tryouts resume today after school.  All those on the first cut list, as well as grade 8’s that have not yet attended, are invited. 

Four days until the cutoff of our Christmas Elves competition.  Bring your food for the less fortunate today!

Tomorrow is Holiday Hat Day! Wear your very own Elf, Santa or Christmas creation!

Rafikis will be on sale tomorrow at lunch in the foyer. For $10 you can buy a gift for a loved one while giving back  to women and children in need!

The band room will be open for practice today at lunch.

Jazz band practice tomorrow morning at 7:30am. New members are welcome.

Due to the heavy snowfall, there will be no buses operating today.

Senior boys basketball try-outs are tentatively still scheduled for today.  If too many students are absent due to the buses not running, it will be rescheduled to Thursday after school.  There will be an announcement by noon today.

Grade 7 and 8 GIRLS basketball tryout tomorrow after school.

7D are asked to bring something to read to Health period 2 today.
