Tomorrow is the last day to hand in your March practice sheet. Please get yours signed and handed in. 
Tomorrow is also the day for the combined grade 7 & 8 band practice. This is an important rehearsal for all band members going to the Red Deer festival. Please bring your lunch to the music room at 12:05, as the plan is to play first, then eat. 

The talent show auditions are coming up in just a few weeks. If you would like to audition, please see Mrs. Baron to sign up.

Thursday - it was announced yesterday that Thursday was going to be a Red Deer festival practice, but many grade 7’s will be gone on a field trip that day. This important combined practice will be moved to this Friday over the lunch hour. Any grade 7 or 8 band members going on the Red Deer festival trip must attend on Friday. Please come to the band room with your lunch at 12:05. The band will play first, then eat in the music room.

Also, a few more reminders before the month is up that March practice sheets are due for all band members. Please get yours signed and handed in if you haven’t done so already

High jump practice today at lunch for any student who is interested.  Tomorrow will be a boys only practice.

A late congratulations is in order for The Silver Slades who were golden in the Beaumont Cup last Thursday!   The team took down the Bohun Bafoons in the semis and then went on to defeat Beau Meadow in the finals.  Well done boys!

A big congratulations goes out to the grade 6 indoor soccer team who won gold this weekend at their tournament in Leduc.  They won every single game. Way to go!!

Congratulations to our badminton team on winning both the LDAA Jr. and Intermediate banners in Wetaskiwin this past Saturday.  The team dominated this years tournament with the juniors winning gold in all 5 categories and the intermediates finishing with three golds and two silvers.
We will be signing the banners and taking a team picture tomorrow at lunch.  Please remember to bring your badminton shirts.

Yoga is happening today in room 122. The cost is $2 and class starts at 3:15… ending at 3:45

It was announced last week that our school bands and choir won the trophies from the Leduc Music Festival. What was not announced was that our Grade 8 band won the OUTSTANDING BAND of the FESTIVAL. That is pretty awesome, considering there was a high school band at the festival this year. Congratulations to our Grade 8 Band on this incredible accomplishment

Round 2 of the student enrichment program will begin on Monday.  Permission slips must be handed in to participate.  There is a schedule outside rm 119 if you would like to see your time slot.

Verification Packages - The “ice cream” parties are still up for grabs, students check your backpacks and lockers and get those forms into your teacher asap.

Verification packages were due last Friday, this confirms your registration for the upcoming school year, please hand in to your homeroom teacher as soon as possible.

Happy Earth Week! Were you kind to Mother Earth by coming to school in an Earth-friendly way today? Do it the rest of the week if you didn’t, and your class could win the pizza party prize.

Grade 6, 7, and 8 Boys’ High Jump will be Thursday at noon.

Badminton practice for all tournament players is today after school.

Attention all Beaumont Cup floor hockey players.  The team lists have been posted and there will be a brief meeting in the gym at 12:05am for all players and coaches.

If you handed in your permission slip and are not on a team, don’t panic, Mr. Mistol just screwed up.  Please see him during the break.

As announced yesterday, the choir placed first in their class at the festival last week. They did so well, in fact, that they have been recommended to the provincial festival Friday, May 8th.

Yoga starts today! It starts at 3;15 in room 122. The cost is $2

Congratulations to all badminton players on their performance at the “North” finals this past Saturday in Devon.  Every competitor finished either first or second and will be moving on the LDAA finals this weekend in Wetaskiwin.

There will also be a badminton practice today after school for all players who have qualified for this weekends finals.

Congratulations to all the Leduc Music Festival band and choir students on their performances last week. The bands and choir all received a first place certificate. There were also many soloists, duet and trio groups that placed first or second in their classes. Congratulations to them as well.

Mrs. Baron needs to see the choir members right after these announcements for a very important meeting.

Band members are reminded that March practice can still be handed in. Please get yours to Mrs.Baron by the end of the month.

All grade 6, 7 and 8 girls who are interested in high jump, please come to the gym at lunch, changed and ready to jump.  Boys who are interested in high jump, your practice will be tomorrow.

Congratulations to the badminton team on their performance at Dansereau last night. Out of the ten categories, JEL won a total of 9 golds, 4 silver and 1 bronze. There is a very important badminton meeting for all those playing in Devon tomorrow. Please meet in the gym during the morning break.

Today is the last day to hand in Beaumont Cup floor hockey permission slips.  Please bring them to Mr. Mistol as soon as possible.

Badminton practice for group #1 is today after school.

Griffins Volleyball Camp will again be running at ESBCHS for a week at the end of August. Any athletes that are interested in attending please pick up a registration form from the folder on the athletics board. This is a first come first served basis and spots are limited so register early. Coaches will be attending some of the days to assess potential players for next season so make sure you get a chance to show off your stuff!

All Beaumont Cup floor hockey permission slips and fees need to be handed in to Mr. Mistol by tomorrow or you cannot play.  If you were away yesterday and would like to participate in the floor hockey tournament, please see Mr. Mistol.

The final try-out for Grade 6 boys floor hockey goes today at noon.

Congratulations to the badminton team on their performance in Sherwood Park this past Saturday.  JE Lapointe won the team aggregate with 19 points, the next closest school had 8.

All badminton players need to meet in the gym during the morning break for a brief meeting.  This week’s practice schedule is on the athletic board.

Attention all grade 6 students interested in playing indoor soccer! There will be a short meeting in Mrs. Klimaszewski’s room, rm 117, at morning recess.

Grade 6 boys floor hockey try-outs at noon today.  Please hand in your commitment form if you haven’t already done so.

Good luck to all badminton players who will be competing in the F.R. Haythorne tournament tomorrow in Sherwood Park!  Please come to the gym at morning break for a brief but IMPORTANT meeting.

Early dismissal today.

Speech Arts students who have given their names to Mme Marshall yesterday are reminded to meet with Ms Colquhoun in the library conference room at the beginning of the lunch break (12:05).

Pokemon Club is cancelled tomorrow.

There will be a badminton meeting during the morning break in the gym.  All players must attend.

Grade 6 boys floor hockey try-outs are today at 12:05pm.  Make sure you sign up on the athletic board.

Band members are reminded that March practice sheets are now due.

Band and choir members are also reminded that the Leduc Music Festival is next week. Permission forms for this trip were due before spring break, so if you forgot to hand yours in, please do so this week.

Speech arts students: Ms Colquhoun has made herself available to help you again this week. She will be here tomorrow during the lunch break. You must give Mme Marshall your name before the end of the day to guarantee your spot - there will be no drop ins; a maximum of 10 students will be seen.

Good luck to the Elementary students who will be running in the Klondike Relay Races today at the Butterdome.  Could those students please meet in Mme McCallion’s room during the first recess for a short meeting?
