Congratulations to all of our JE Lapointe athletes on an amazing day yesterday!  Our cross-country team absolutely rocked it and represented our school with pride.  We had 6 amazing team results:

As well, our volleyball season also kicked off with both the Gr. 8 boys and girls winning their matches 5-0.

Students please check your emails to see if you have over-due books! If you would like to renew them come see Miss.LaPointe or drop them in the return bin if you no longer want them.

Did you know that prior to the arrival and settlement of European immigrants, Indigenous people had complex and successful knowledge systems and practices about land systems, sciences, mathematics, politics, physical and mental health, and food security that provided healthy and abundant livelihood for millions of peoples for tens of thousands of years.  We all had and continue to have so much to learn from our Indigenous peoples.

Truth and Reconciliation Week: Learning activities throughout the week as well as a ceremony on Wednesday. Did you know that there are 1.4 million people of Indigenous ancestry in Canada, referring to 3 distinct cultural groups of original habitants. There are between 52 and 72 Indigenous languages in what is called Canada and these languages contribute to the rich culture of our country.

 Great job running this week, team! Please have your parents sign the permission form as soon as possible.  Cross-country meet is Tues Sept 28th.  The list of all participants is on the athletic board.   Please see M. Morin or Mr. Mistol if you have any questions. 

*All grade 7 volleyball boys need to run today.  If you did not make the volleyball team and would still like to run, please come as well.  Meet in the fitness room at 12:26pm.  Running is optional for all other cross country runners today.

CROSS COUNTRY PRACTICE today at 12:26pm.  This should only take about 10-12 minutes of your day.  Any student interested in participating is welcome.  As well, all volleyball players (minus BHA and grade 7 volleyball girls trying out) please attend.  Meet Mrs. Wilson in the gym changed and ready to run right after the 12:26 bell! 

BHA Students - please remember to bring your proof of vaccination to the arena.  The town of Beaumont will be at the doors checking.

Do you like running?  If so, the cross country race is for you!!!  There will be a very quick meeting in the gym for any grade 7, 8 and 9 students interested.   Teachers, please e-mail the names of any interested students from your homeroom to Mr. Mistol right after these announcements. The cross country race  meeting will  be in the gym at the morning break.

Grade 9 sewing students are asked to come to the home ec room to pick up their sewing fabric. If you ordered a kit it is important that you see Mrs. Nessel before the end of today.
