Any students that would be interested in scorekeeping the Premier Boys Basketball game against Coloniale – today, after school – please see Mr. Slade as soon as possible.
 Any students interested in scorekeeping for this weekend’s mini basketball tournament please see Mr. Mistol  as soon as possible.
All badminton option players must be in the front entrance at 12:25 ready to go to the LRC.  If you need to borrow equipment please see Mrs Dorash in the gym at 12:10.
7BC period 4 pe – boys and girls -  please meet in the gym.  There is no BRAC during this period.
Reminder to district girls and boys basketball players, you need to meet in the front foyer at 2:55 ready to load the bus for Thorsby. 
  It’s hard to believe, but yes, there are still bake sale containers in the music room. There are still 5 left in the music room. If you are in jr. high band and you brought items for the bake sale, one of these may be your container. They also may be yours if your mom is asking where her container is! Long story short, please come and get your container. Mrs. Baron does not want to store them any longer!!
There will be a choir practice today at 12:10 for all members.
Band members are reminded that their January theory and practice are due this week. Please get your signed in the next few days as you will be giving your practice minutes to Mrs. Baron during class time STARTING on Friday.
 Please get Rabbit Hill ski club forms and money into Mrs. Nessel as soon as possible.
 Jasper Ski trip spots are filling fast. Don’t be disappointed. Get your money and forms to Mrs. Nessel rm 117 as soon as possible.

Badminton option students – forms for Wednesdays trip to the LRC are due today!!
Rabbit Hill ski club – If you are planning on going with us on our first ski night on Tues. Feb. 5 money and registration forms are due no later than Wed. of this week. Please give them to Mrs. Nessel in rm 117 as soon as possible.
Jasper ski trip – The trip is now on sale and spots on the bus are selling fast. Forms are available on the bulletin board outside the staqff room door. Please return your money and forms to Mrs. Nessel  in rm 117 as soon as possible to ensure that you have a seat. This trip is only open to junior high students.
There are still a few bake sale containers in the music room. Please remember to pick up your container by the end of the day today

Today is Milk Monday. Teachers are asked to send a runner down to collect the milk during their lunchtime. Please DO NOT return the yellow bin to the pickup area. Students are asked to rinse out their carton and put it in the yellow bin, not the classroom green bin. Band students will be coming around at the end of the day to collect the empty milk cartons.

The Grade 7 & Grade 8 band members going to the Whistler Music Festival will be having a bake sale TODAY. All items will be $1.00 with all money being raised for their trip to BC this spring.

Jr. High students can come to the bake sale from 12 – 12:20 & the elementary from 12:30 – 12:50.
Any band members that have a Whistler payment are also reminded to hand it in to Mrs. Baron TODAY please.

If you would like a badminton racquet by Monday, please bring in your payment to Mr. Mistol by tomorrow.

There will be a choir meeting and practice for anyone who signed up to sing TODAY at 12 noon. Choir members that have not returned their permission forms are asked to bring them as well please.

Jazz band will practices will continue tomorrow at 12 noon.

There are still a few students who have not paid for their Leduc Music Festival solo, duet, trio or quartet. There are also some students who have not yet chosen music.

Premier girls basketball have a practice at lunch in the gym, please be ready at 12:15 ready to go!  The Premier Boys are welcome to join for a shoot around.

Geography Challenge – the warmest temperature ever recorded in Canada  45 C, was at Yellow Grass near Grasslands National Park in this province. Name the Province.
The students going to Whistler Music Festival will be holding a fundraiser bake sale this Friday. All items will be $1.00 with all money being raised for the Grade 7 & 8 trip to BC this spring.
There will be a choir meeting and practice for anyone who signed up to sing tomorrow at 12 noon. Choir members are asked to return their permission forms by tomorrow as well please.

There are extra white and chocolate milk for sale. If you would like to buy one see Mrs. Baron at first recess or during the lunch hour. They are $1.50 for a small and $2.50 for a large.

A reminder that Jr. High girls PE will be in the gym today.  The boys are at the arena.

We need scorekeepers for the mini basketball game today after school.  If you are interested, please see Mr. Mistol or Ms. Haylett.

The Whistler band trip will be holding a fundraiser bake sale this Friday. All items will be $1.00 with all money being raised for the Grade 7 & 8 trip to BC this spring.
Any band students that have signed up for a solo, duet, trio or quartet for the Leduc Music Festival must return their permission form and money, as well as choose music BY WEDNESDAY of this week. Please see Mrs. Baron in the music room today or tomorrow at lunch if you have not chosen your music yet.

A big congratulation goes out to the Premier girl’s basketball team. They competed in the Leduc Jr. tournament over the weekend and did extremely well. They played 3 games and ended up beating Coloniale in the final game! Just a reminder that practice today is cancelled and we will be practicing tomorrow at lunch. 
Another congratulations goes to the Premier Boys Basketball Team who lost in the gold medal final of their tournament this weekend.  They played short handed but worked hard until the end.  Practice is today at 12:15.
Code club is this Wednesday.

Congratulations to both our girls and boys district basketball teams.  The boys won their first game against Riverview 80-12, while the girls also beat Riverview 28-18.
Congratulations to the Premier Girls Basketball team as they played a nail bitter against Leduc Jr. High last night. They ended up winning by 1 point and getting their first win of the season! Great work girls! There will be a quick meeting in Miss. Haylett’s room at the lunch break.
Congratulations to the Premier Boys Basketball Team on a big win in Leduc last night.  Would the team please meet in Mr. Slade’s room at 12:30 for an important, but short meeting.
Any band students that want to perform a solo, duet, trio or small group at the Leduc Music Festival must get a permission form from Mrs. Baron. If you have returned your form and payment, please come to the music room today or Monday to choose your music.
All Grade 5 students are reminded to hand in their Edmonton Symphony Orchestra field trip form and money today please.
Anyone in Grade 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 interested in joining the second term of choir needs to sign up and get a new permission form from the music room today please. Students returning to sing, as well as new choir members must sign up. The sign-up sheets are on the white board in the music room.

Snowball throwing is not permitted on school grounds or at bus stops.

Tomorrow is Rainbow Bright Day! Leadership students will be hosting a raffle for participating students to win prizes!
District Girls and boys practice at 12:20 today.  Also if you are interested in scorekeeping for the girls basketball game at JEL tonight please see Mrs Dorash or Mr Mistol at morning break.
Any band students that want to perform a solo, duet, trio or small group at the Leduc Music Festival must get a permission form from Mrs. Baron. If you have returned your form and payment, please come to the music room today or tomorrow to choose your music.
There will be a short meeting for anyone in Grade 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 interested in singing in the choir TODAY at first recess in the music room. If you want to continue in choir or if you would like to join, please come to this very important meeting.
A reminder that all Jr. High boys will be at the rink for PE next week.  The girls will be in the gym.

Grade 5 and 6 students who are interested in running relay races in the Edmonton Journal Games, please sign up by the gym.    Our first practice will be tomorrow at noon.

Rainbow Bright day is this Friday. There will be a raffle located in the front foyer for those students who participate!
If there are any junior high students interested in keeping score for this week’s basketball game on Thursday please see Mr Mistol or Mrs Dorash.
We will need scorekeepers regularly during the basketball season so let us know if you are interested in coming out.
The next District girls basketball practice will be on Thursday at 12:10. 
Code Club is today after school. The Monday, Wednesday, Thursday Groups are meeting on Wednesdays now.

Friday is Rainbow Bright day. Those students who dress up will be able to enter their name for prizes!
District boys basketball practice today at noon.
Home Ec. Students are invited to work on their projects at lunch and/or until 4:00 afterschool (most days) to ensure that you complete your projects on time. Please check with Mrs. Slade for available time. Deadline is by the end of the day Wednesday, January 30th.
Congratulations to the Mini girl’s basketball team who played their first game last night against Coloniale. They ended up tying 16-16 but played great for their very first game together.
Just a reminder to the Premier girls basketball team that they have an early morning practice tomorrow at 7:15 am. Please be warmed up and ready to go by 7:15 on the dot!
Ready to start running again?  Grade 5 and 6 students who are interested in running in a 200 meter relay race at the Butterdome on February 19th, please sign up by the gym.  The first practice will be on Friday at noon.
All BHA students need to hand in their hockey hooky permission slips ASAP.
There is white milk available for sale at lunch today: small 1.50 and large 2.50, see Ms. Parker in the music room.

With the onset of the flu we are reminding students to wash hands regularly, use hand sanitizer provided and refrain from sharing food and drink.

A reminder that Rainbow Bright Day is next Friday (January 18th). Students who dress up are able to enter their names in a raffle, which will be set up in the front foyer.
Speech Arts students: The teachers who will be helping you be prepared for the competition have been advised of their group of students. They will be contacting you to set up a first meeting shortly. Thank-you to Ms. Collett, Ms. Fedor, Mrs. Schwer, Mrs. Nichols, Mr. Bohun and Ms. Alexander for offering to help our students.
All BHA students need to hand in their “Hockey Hooky” permission slips to Mr. Mistol as soon as possible.

Jasper ski trip March 15 – Where would you prefer to be … in class or standing on the top of a mountain on a warm spring day. The ski trip will be going on sale starting next week so listen to the announcements. The trip is only open to junior high students. The trip is sold on a first come first served basis. There are only 43 seats  so don’t be disappointed. If you want more information please talk to Mrs. Nessel in rm 117
Rabbit Hill Ski club – The JEL ski club will be heading to Rabbit Hill for 4 Tuesday evenings  beginning in February. The club is open to all students grade 4-8. You can sign up for all 4 night or only one or two. Ski club forms will be available next week so listen to the announcements.

Rainbow Bright Day is next Friday (January 18th). The Leadership students are encouraging everyone to wear their brightest clothes and don’t be afraid to mix and match crazy colours. Students who dress up for Rainbow Bright day will be able to enter a raffle for prizes, which will be set up in the front foyer.
Code Club is today after school. Next week, Monday and Thursday Code Club members will be moving to the Wednesday group.
Junior High students attending Rob Nash presentation at Coloniale Estates School this afternoon. Please remain in homeroom before leaving and return to homeroom upon return.
