Grades 7 and 8 girls basketball tryouts tomorrow after school.  See Mr. Slade if you are unable to attend.

Mr. Mistol doesn’t have a homeroom, and yet he still has 362 points for the Christmas Elves competition.  Get your donations in by next Friday!

There will be a concrete truck in the parking lot this morning and some movement into the school with concrete using wheelbarrows. 

Grade 8 boys tryout after school today until 4:30. Please talk to Mrs. Fearn if you can’t make it.

Holiday Hat Day: Next Wednesday is early dismissal day, therefore Hat Day. Don’t just wear your regular cap; let’s get the Christmas spirit started by wearing Santa Hats, Elf Hats or any Christmas themed hat. No Festive touque? Be creative, deck out your own jingle-all-the way hat!

Grade 7 boys basketball today at lunch some grade 7s will be asked to come to the tryout after school tomorrow.

Senior boys basketball try-outs are today after school.  Cuts posted so check the list on the gym window to see if your continuing to try-out.  Grade 8 boys basketball tryout tomorrow after school. If you are interested in playing but cannot attend the tryout please tell Mrs. Fearn.

Christmas Elves Update!  Mr. Slade’s class has 732 points!  Mme Stewart’s class had 16 points!  Mrs. Buzak has none!  Can you beat out Mr. Slade?  He doubts it?  You have until Dec. 7 to prove to the school that you are the champions!

November 26- Day 1

In support of our ÉJELS Christmas Elves and Santa’s Anonymous, we will be having a competition between homerooms. The winning homeroom gets an ice cream cake!
Here's how we play: Students must bring in different items and put them in a donation box. Depending on the items you bring in your homeroom will get a certain amount of points. If you want to know how many points each item is worth check with your homeroom teacher and the points chart and hang. The homeroom with the most points wins.


Reminder students that Hats, hoodies, toques are not allowed to be worn in school and class as well Inappropriate language in the hallways is not allowed.

Grade 7 boys basketball try-outs are today at lunch.  All grade 8 boys are also asked to attend this try-out.

November 23- Day 5

We are only a day in to our Christmas Elves competition and Mr. Slade’s class had already raised 150 points!  Looks like the rest of you do not stand a chance.

Our Toonies for Taylor campaign has already raised more than $500, but we definitely want to help more. Taylor’s parents are spending over $20 a day just to park at the hospital and see Taylor, not to mention the cost of basic needs like meals while at the hospital. Your donations are important because Taylor's parents use them to get through their day and stay with Taylor, giving him the support he needs. If you want to make a donation there’s a jar in the office where they are being collected, every little bit helps. (Mason)

Grade 8-9 boys basketball try-outs are today after school until 4:30pm.  This is for anyone interested in making the Senior or Junior basketball team.

A band practice FLEX session is being offered next week. Grade 7, Grade 8 or Grade 9 band students that would like get in some practice are welcome to sign up. It will be happening during block 4.

Just a reminder, when you come to the gym for class please do not bring your books or backpacks with you. Please leave those in your hallway locker. 

Our annual JEL Christmas tradition had begun.  The Christmas Elves Competition has classes earn points for food, clothing, and toy donations for those in need this Christmas.  Mme Stewart is the defending, defending, defending champion, so talk to your teacher and see how your class can knock her off and win a huge DQ ice cream cake.

A variety of Rafikis will be on sale Wednesdays and Fridays at lunch by the gym. For only $10, you can help provide jobs, education, food, water and shelter to people without these fundamental needs. They make perfect stocking suffers and Secret Santa gifts.

Grade 8-9 boys basketball try-outs have been moved to Thursday after school. 

Girls basketball try-outs have been moved to tomorrow after school.

For the next while, there will be no access to the school from the outside door nearest the Ken Nichol Recreation Centre.  All students and staff must use the exit beside the new classroom wing to go to the back of the school. Also, access to the washrooms in the hallway by the old gym is only available through the hallway from the front of the school.  Please note that no one is allowed beyond any yellow caution tape.  Thank you.

Update for the One-Act Festival - all students who signed up to be a part of the One-Act-Festival need to see Ms Jensen and Mr Eidick today at lunch in room 203 to pick up their schedules and scripts. Rehearsals start this week after school.

There have been a number of incidents in which cologne or axe spray is being sprayed in the hallways.  Some students and staff might be scent sensitive so please refrain from bring such items to school.
