Today is banner signing and picture day for all badminton team members!  Please bring your jersey and meet in the gym at 12:10pm.
All BHA students need to bring a pair of gym clothes and clean indoor shoes for tomorrow.
Parent Council/P.A.A. meeting tonight at 7:30, all parents welcome to attend.
There is an important meeting today at 12:10 for all students participating in the Science Fair.  Please meet in room 113 at 12:10.
Code Club is cancelled this week due to Early Dismissal.

Congratulations to our badminton teams for winning the Junior and Intermediate banners this past Saturday at the LDAA finals in Leduc.  The JE Lapointe teams dominated the day, with the Jr. team winning 14 of 20 possible points and the Intermediate team winning 16 of 20.
 
Great job to all team members.  Please bring your jersey tomorrow for a team picture before signing the banners.

Those projects that have been handed in for Home Ec. are marked and ready for pick up. Please see Mrs. Slade either at lunch or afterschool for your work. Please DO NOT take any projects without her handing it to you. Thank you very much!
Also, there are still outstanding projects needed to be handed in to Mrs. Slade as well as buckets needing emptying (Last round of Option B’s and Option A Gr. 8’s)… Please see Mrs. Slade today to clear out your supplies and to be sure your project has been handed in for marking. TANKS again!!

Any grade 5 and 6 students who are interested in high jump, please meet in the gym today at 12:10.  This will be a practice, so come ready to participate.
All grade 4, 5, and 6 students who are interested in the Devon Track Meet, please sign up on the bulletin board near the gym.  The events will include ball throw, running long jump and different relay races.
Grade Eights!  What short and inspiring message do you have for your fellow graduates?  Becky and Nevada are coming to ask you this question sometime in the next two weeks so be ready!
Congratulations to the Dorash Dazzlers for winning the Beaumont Cup this weekend!  It was an epic win with an overtime victory just seconds in!  As well, congratulations to Slade’s Silvers for beating Mistol’s Magicians  in stunning fashion, and to the Tonita Tidal Wave for taking the Silver Medal.
Thanks to Mr. Mistol for setting up and organizing this huge event!
The Science Fair is approaching.  This is a reminder to participants to check your package and timeline and make sure that you are going to be ready.  IF you have any questions or concerns, please see Mr. Slade, Mme Stewart and Mme McCallion.
Due to the Whistler band trip hot lunch orders will be accepted until Tuesday.

Any Beaumont Cup participants that were away yesterday need get a schedule from Mr. Mistol ASAP.

Mrs Dorash’s Dazzlers would like to wish all of the boys’ team luck at the floor hockey tournament tonight.  We will bring you some crying towels for you to use after we defeat you!!
Congratulations to Miss Jacejko’s 6C and Miss Girard’s 4D class…you are the winners of the pizza party!!! Miss Jacejko’s class was able to turn in her complete package the day after they were handed out, way to go!

There are a few outstanding registration packages, please turn yours in to the office as soon as possible. Pizza Party winners will be announced on Friday morning announcements.
Badminton practice will be today after school for all tournament players.  An optional practice will also take place today at noon
An important announcement for all students playing in tomorrow’s BEAUMONT CUP!  There is a very important meeting in the gym during the morning recess.  All players must attend.  Do NOT go outside for recess.  I repeat, DO NOT go outside for recess.

The teams for the Beaumont Cup are now posted on the athletic board outside of the gym. 
 
There will be a very important badminton meeting in the gym for all tournament players during the first break. Practice is also after school today.
 
All BHA students will be at the BRAC today.  You will need a pair of gym clothes and clean indoor runner.  You will go outside for recess, eat with your homeroom class and then meet in the front foyer at 1:00pm. (NO EARLIER)
 
There is a Whistler Concert Band practice today at 12:10. If you are in this group, please write in down and remember to come. Your attendance is mandatory.
 
Whistler band members are reminded to be at the airport by 5am tomorrow morning wearing your SABRES gear. Please don’t forget to pick up your instrument and music before leaving school!
 
And finally, Good luck to the Jr. High Band on their performances in Whistler! Have fun and play well!

Badminton practice is today after school for all players playing this Saturday in Leduc.
Badminton practice is also today at noon for girls doubles and mixed doubles teams.
There will be a Whistler Jazz Band practice today at 12:10 and a Whistler Concert Band practice tomorrow at 12:10. If you are in either of these groups, please write in down and remember to come. Your attendance is mandatory.
All EJELS students are invited to audition for the upcoming school talent show happening the afternoon of June 5th. Dance, Vocal, Instrumental and Comedy Act Auditions will take place the week of May 27th, so if you would like to sign up, please see Mrs. Baron.

Once again, congratulations to the BSSD girls and coaches. They won more gold and platinum awards at last weekend’s competition.

Congratulations to all the badminton players that will be moving on to the LDAA finals this Saturday!   Practices this week will be on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at noon and after school.  There will be no practice today. 
There will be a short meeting this morning at the break for any jr. high students travelling to Whistler this Thursday. This is a very important meeting about food, so please remember to come as your feedback is needed!

Permission slips and the $5 fee for all Elementary students interested in playing at the Beaumont cup are due tomorrow.

The BSSD girls have done it again; they won many gold and platinum medals at the Red Deer completion. Congratulations girls.
April 16 – The premier basketball teams will battle the staff today at 12:10.  Elementary students are invited to watch from 12:10 to 12:30 and junior high students are welcome from 12:30 to 12:50.  Do not bring food or drink into the gym.

A big congratulations goes out to our badminton team for winning the most medals of any school at the F.R. Haythorne tournament in Sherwood Park.
 
The winners were:
Nathan Klapstein – Gold in boys singles
Jacob Bussiere & Alex Goudreau – Gold in boys doubles
Kameron Kruppke – Silver in girls singles
Joelle LeBlanc & Matt Goudreau – Silver in mixed doubles
Mallory Uskiw & Becky Munchrath – Bronze in girls doubles.

Congratulations to the band students on great performances Friday at the Leduc Music Festival. Congratulations to the solos, duets and quartet group as well. Many awards were won and we came away with 4 trophies! Great job everyone!!

The premier basketball teams have issued a challenge to the teachers and think that they can defeat them in a basketball game.  If you are interested in finding out who wins, the game will take place on Tuesday at lunch.
Elementary students are welcome to watch from 1210 -1230 and the junior high students are welcome from 1230-1250.
Congratulations and well done to all the Speech Arts students. You have represented ÉJELS superbly, with several students receiving awards and scholarships. Thank-you to the teacher-coaches who helped prepare our students for the competition.
There will be a Jazz Band practice at 12:10 TODAY
 
Band 6, Band 7, Band 8 and the Jazz Band are reminded that their festival performance is tomorrow. Please be at the school by 8:00am. And don’t forget to wear black and white.
Congratulations to our school choirs yesterday. They did a fantastic job on their performances and won 2 trophies. Great job choir!
