Friday, October 28, 2011 - Day 3

• If any students missed the milk order deadline or were absent from school when the order forms were due, you can still buy milk for the rest of the year. Please return your forms and payment by November 1^st. If you have lost your form, please see Mrs. Baron for a new one.

• Reminder – yoga students, field trip forms are due today to Ms Stewart.

• District girls volleyball please go to the gym at 12:15pm to meet with the premier girls.

• Attention all gr.7 Home ec students. Please bring your order form and cheque to Mrs. Nessel by Oct.31 if you are purchasing sewing supplies.

• If you were the person who wore the wrong set of black shoes home from the front bootroom last night, please return them to the office immediately.

• Drama students: please come to class changed into your black costumes, ready when the bell to begin class goes.

• Premier boys volleyball practice today at noon.

• Grade 7 Mini-Blast workshop this afternoon. Topics include the Truth about Tobacco and Media Manipulation.

• All band students are reminded to get their theory and practice sheets signed by Monday, October 31^st.

Tuesday, October 25, 2011 - Day 5

• For this week only, Day 2 Choir is moving to tomorrow because Mrs. Baron is going to be away on your normal choir day

• There are a few chocolate and white milk left over from yesterday’s Milk Monday. They are $1 for a small and $2 for a large. See Mrs. Baron in her music room at lunch or morning recess break if you are interested in buying one.

Monday, October 24, 2011 - Day 4

• There will only be Running Club Tuesday after school this week.  There will not be a practice on Thursday.

• The Grade 6 students are asking everyone to bring in a donation for the food bank this week. Each class should have a food bank donation box. If your classroom did not receive one, please contact Mrs. Schwer or Mme. Marshall.

• Today is Day 4 Choir practice in the music room from 12 – 12:30. Please bring your words when you come.

• All band students are reminded to get their theory and practice sheets signed by next Monday.

• For this week only, Day 2 Choir is moving to Day 1 because Mrs. Baron will be away on Day 2.

• Free Coat Exchange - Drop off gently used coats today from 3:15-7:00pm in Room 105 here at J.E. Lapointe. Pick up a coat on Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 3:15-7:30pm. Please bring a food bank donation. Students are to be accompanied by an adult 18 or over.

• The Halloween Howler volleyball tournament this past weekend was a great success. Thank you to all volunteers and Mr. Mistol. Congratulations to all 16 teams who participated!

Friday, October 21, 2011- Day 3

• Good luck to our teams playing in the Halloween Howler volleyball tournament this weekend. Come out and cheer on your Sabres.

• Jazz band IS TODAY in the music room and will be every day 3. Please bring your lunch to the music room at 12 if you are interested in signing up.

• Day 4 Choir practice will be on Monday. Please make a note in your agenda so you don’t forget.

Thursday, October 20, 2011 - Day 2

• Reminder to students- When you phone home or your parents’ cell, please leave a quick message as to why you are calling them.  The office receives several phone calls per day from concerned parents.

• Students are reminded to please return their Milk Monday order forms and payment to their homeroom teachers by tomorrow please. No late orders will be accepted so write a reminder in your agenda!

• Day 2 Choir practice is today from 12 – 12:30 in the music room. This is for students in 4A, 4B, 4 split class, 5A, 5B and 5C.

Wednesday, October 19, 2011 -Day 1

• Day 2 Choir practice is tomorrow.

• Any students with Camp Evergreen forms and payment are asked to bring them to Mrs. Baron right after announcements please.

• Students are reminded to please return their Milk Monday order forms and payment to their homeroom teachers by this Friday. No late orders will be accepted so write a reminder in your agenda!

• All students who have volunteered to score keep for this weekend’s Halloween Howler Volleyball tournament need to hand in their permission slips to Mr. Mistol ASAP.

• Reminder that chess Club forms are due.  Please hand in to Mr. Maltais today.

• There are several smaller Lost and Found items such as jewellery and hair accessories in the office.  Please come to the office and identify to claim.

Tuesday, October 18, 2011 - Day 5

• Free Coat Exchange – Drop off gently used coats on Sun.Oct. 23 from 12:00-4:00pm and Monday, Oct. 24 from 3:15-7:00pm at J.E. Lapointe School. All donations must be packaged. Pick up a coat on Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 3:15 – 7:30pm. Please bring a food bank donation. Students please note that you must be accompanied by an adult 18 and older.

• District Volleyball Boys have a game today in Wetaskwin at Clear Vista School. Meet in the front foyer after school with all your Volleyball gear.

• Anyone with completed chess forms, please bring them in to Mr. Maltais in room 119. If you need a new chess form or want more information, come on down to 119.

• Band 6 students are reminded to bring their camp permission forms and payment to Mrs. Baron today please.

• Day 2 Choir will be meeting this Thursday from 12 – 12:30

Monday, October 17, 2011 - Day 4

• Day 4 Choir practice is today from 12 – 12:30 in the music room. The students in this choir are 5D, 5E, 5 split, grade 6, 7 & 8.

• Grade 6, 7 & 8  band students going to Camp Evergreen are asked to return their permission forms and payment for camp today please.

• On Saturday, we had several runners running in the CAHPER Cross Country race at Hawrelak Park in Edmonton. Congratulations to all participants who competed against approximately 150 other runners and placed respectively. Congratulations also to the Beau Meadow runners who also joined us.This was our last race of the year, but if you would like to continue running, we will continue to practice tomorrow after school.

• District Volleyball practice today from 12-12:50.

• District Volleyball Boys: Reminder - we have a game in Wetaskwin Tuesday, Oct. 18^th.

Friday, October 14, 2011 - Day 3

• Choir practices start next week. Due to the large number of students signing up, there will be two choirs this year. The Day 2 Choir will be anyone in 4A, 4B, 4 split class, 5A, 5B, and 5C. The Day 4 Choir will be anyone in 5D, 5E, 5 split class, Grade 6, 7 & 8.

• Choir members must also see Mrs. Baron to get your yellow permission form and lyrics.

• Day 4 choir will have practice on Monday.Please make a note in your agenda so you remember to come!

• Jr. High Band students travelling to Ottawa are reminded to return their purple forms to Mrs. Baron by today please!

• A cell phone was turned into the office this morning.

• No Premier boys volleyball at noon today.

Thursday, October 13, 2011 - Day 2

• Running Club practice today after school.  All students who are participating in the CAHPER Race on Saturday, please hand in your forms to Mme McCallion today.

Wednesday, October 12, 2011- - Day 1

• There will be a Volleyball Practice tomorrow, Thursday, at 7:15 in the morning for the District Boys Team. Also, both teams (Boys and Girls) will have a game at Coloniale after school on Thursday. Come and cheer for J.E. Lapointe!

• The District girls volleyball team played in Warburg last night… They pulled it together beautifully and represented J.E Lapointe very well… Congratulations girls!

Monday, October 3, 2011 - Day 1

• Congratulations to the Running Club members who participated in the Bole Classic Cross Country race on Saturday. Overall, we were extremely well represented at this race. Well done everybody!

• Dieleman fundraising forms & money due Wednesday, October 12^th, not the 11^th.

• Premier boys volleyball practice today afterschool.

• District volleyball practice today from 12:00-12:50. Players try and snack throughout the morning and eat your lunch at 12:50pm. Reminder to players that you need to bring back all the forms to your coaches in order to go to Tuesdays' games. The boys will be playing in Thorsby and the girls in Warburg! Good luck to both teams!
