Day 5

  • Milk Monday forms were due on Wednesday but will be accepted today.  Any student who misses the deadline will have the opportunity to purchase milk each Wednesday as there are always leftovers.

  • The music room will be closed over lunch hour today.  choir, jazz band and band will all continue in January.

  • Final tryouts for Mini Girls basketball will be in the gym at noon recess today.

  • Premier girls basketball girls - remember we have a practice at 7:20 am on Monday, January 6th

  • Day 3
  • Milk Monday forms are due today, but will be accepted until Friday. Please hand yours in to your homeroom teacher.
  • The music room is closed over the lunch hour this week. Noon hour practice, choir, and jazz band will continue in January.
  • The classy threads orders are in for those that ordered a sewing kit. Please come and pick yours up. Jordan Landry please see Mrs. Nessel.
  • If there is any student who has not yet picked up their order from the Scholastic Book Fair, please stop by the library today and see Mrs. Forest.
  • Bring your loonie donation and come decorate a candy cane in the Home Ec. room today during lunch. All donations will go towards the playground for Dansereau Meadows.
  • DIY Club today after school.
  • There will be a quick meeting for all district boys basketball players in the gym at 12:10pm.

  • Day 2
  • The “Decorate a Candy Cane” has been postponed until Wednesday at lunch time.  Bring a loonie to donate to the Dansereau Meadows playground and decorate a candy cane as a reindeer!
  • Reminder - premier boys basketball team practice tomorrow morning at 7:oo
  • The Science Olympics team meeting is canceled for today.  Please meet in room 109 at 1230 tomorrow.
  • DIY Club is running after school today and Wednesday.
  • Milk Monday order forms are due tomorrow, but will be accepted until Friday. Please hand them in to your homeroom teacher.
  • The music room is closed during the lunch hour this week. Music room practices will continue in January.
  • Mrs. Baron’s Outdoor Ed Active Living class is reminded to bring their toboggan’s for class tomorrow or borrow one from a friend to use tomorrow. It is supposed to be cold, so please dress warmly as we will be going outside.

  • Day 1
  • Would the students listed on the Science Olympics team listed outside Mr. Slade’s door please meet in room 109 at 12:30 tomorrow for your first team meeting.  We will also meet on Wednesday at that time!

  • Despite Mr. Slade’s absence there will be a Premier Boys basketball practice after school today.  Please see Mr. Mistol if you cannot attend so he can relay the message to Mr. Slade.

  • Mini boys basketball tryouts are today at noon!

  • All Jr. High classes will be having phys ed in the gym today - you will not be going to the arena

  • The SWAT team will be meeting in the tech ed room instead of the home ed room today at lunch

  • The band and choir concert was last night.  The performances were well done and congratulations goes to all band and choir members for an excellent night of music!

  • The Band will be selling white and chocolate milk again in the new year.  Forms were given to homeroom teachers yesterday, if you did not get one, please ask your homeroom teacher.  The due date to order your milk is next Wednesday, Dec 18th.

  • Block 5 Newcomers Group will be meeting today in the library conference room.

  • Block 6 students will meet in the library conference room after lunch today.

  • Term 1 - Home Ec students who still have stuff in tote boxes need to clean them out TODAY.  Your belongings will be cleaned out and thrown into bags and labelled with your name, but there are no guarantees the items won't get lost or misplaced.

  • Would all of the boys who were t the last premier boys tryout please meet in room 109 at 12:30 today.  this is a very important meeting.

  • There will be a district girls basketball meeting in room 112 at 12:30 today.

  • Our annual Band and Choir concert is tomorrow night starting at 7pm. Performers should arrive by 6:30pm, dressed in black, white, red or green.
  • Great job elementary students on your SNOW BIZ show last night!!
  • Premier boys basketball tryouts are today at 3:30.
  • Mini Girls basketball try-outs are today at 12:10pm.  All grade 5-6 girls interested in playing on the team must attend.
  • All district boys basketball players need to meet in the gym for a brief meeting at the morning break.  Please check the athletic board to see if your name is on the list. The final try-out will be tomorrow at noon.
  • Premier girls basketball meet in the gym at 10:40 for a quick meeting.
  • There will be a choir practice tomorrow at 12:10 in the music room. This is a final practice for the band and choir concert so please remember to come.
  • Wednesday DIY Club meets today after school in the Tech Ed Room.

  • Premier Boys Basketball Tryouts continue tonight at 3:30.District Boys basketball tryouts continue tomorrow at noon.
  • Premier girls basketball practice tomorrow morning.  Be on the court ready to go by 7:30am.
  • There will be a district girls basketball tryout today at lunch for all grades 5, 6,  and 7 girls who are interested.  Tryouts will start right at 12:20, so make sure you have a good snack at recess!
  • This is the last day for the Grade 8 Christmas Elves competition.  Who has collected the most points?  Stay tuned...
  • Class 8A would like to thank all of those who supported the Christmas Elves by purchasing candy canes.  We raised $80, all of which has been used to buy products for those in need this holiday season.
  • JE Lapointe’s Ski Club will be heading to Rabbit Hill for 5 Ski nights in February and March. Look for forms to register for the trips after Christmas. All grades are welcome. See Mrs. Nessel if you would like more information.
  • Jasper Ski Trip - This years trip will take place on Friday, Feb. 28 . 40 Junior high students will board a motor coach bus , heading off to Jasper’s Marmot Basin for an awesome day of sun and skiing. Registration forms will available after Christmas. See Mrs. Nessel if you want more information.
  • Term 1 Home ec students are asked to come in and clean out their tote boxes by Wed. to make room for term 2 students. Any tote boxes not cleaned out by Wed. will be cleaned out by Mrs. Nessel and supplies will be put in bags.
  • There are still items that were ordered during the book fair to be picked up from Mrs. Forest.  If you ordered something and have not yet picked it up, please stop by the library with your yellow receipt and pick your item up.
  • This is our Christmas Concert week here at JE. Tomorrow night is the Grade 4 & Grade 5 presentation of the musical SNOW BIZ with shows at 6pm & 7:15pm. Also this week is our Choir and Band Christmas concert. This great night of Christmas music is Thursday starting at 7pm here in the gym.
  • SNOW BIZ speakers have a practice today at noon in the music room. Bring your lunch and any props or costumes at the 12:10 bell.

  • Today’s hot lunch is Wild Wings.

  • Grade 5-6 boys basketball try-outs are today at 12:10pm.  All grade 6 boys trying out for the district team must attend today’s try-out as well.

  • There will be a candy cane sale tomorrow at lunch in room 109.  Each cane will be 25 cents and there will  a limit of 4 canes per student.
  • 6D is hosting a bake sale today at noon in support of cancer.

  • Premier boys basketball tryouts continue tomorrow after school.  If you are interested and are yet to come out, tomorrow is your last opportunity before the first cut is made.
  • District boys basketball try-outs will be tomorrow at 12:10pm.  All grade 6 and 7 students interested must come out.
  • Mini basketball try-outs will begin soon!  Please sign up on the athletic board outside of the gym if interested.
  • The Gr. 4-5 BHA students will be leaving for the arena at 12:40pm today.  Due to early dismissal, we will be on the ice at 1pm.

  • All Grade 7 & 8 Band members are reminded that today is the last day to hand in October's practice sheets.  After today, they will not be accepted, so remember to get yours signed and handed in.

  • Anyone interested in participating in the Leduc Rotary Music Festival, Speech Arts can pick up a permission letter from Mme. Marshall's classroom (room 104).   Forms as well as payment must be handed in no later than next Wednesday, Dec 4th (not Dec 3rd as previously announced.  Selection of poems will occur on Thursday and Friday, Dec 5th and 6Th at lunch time (12:10 to 12:50) in Mme. Marshall's room.

  • Premier girls basketball practice will continue Monday at lunch.  Please be their at 12:10, ready to go.

  • Congratulations to Perrie Rai (7A) who has won a ice cream party for his class and has the honour of shaving Mr. Bohun's moustache today.

  • Congratulations to Castin Wisniewski (58C) for winning the right to shave Mr. Slade's moustache.  More importantly, he has won an ice cream party for his class!

  • And finally, congratulations to Dylan Zak (6B) who has won and ice cream party for his class and will be shaving Mr. Helgren's moustache off today.  These students as well as several others donated to Movember.

  • Mme. Stewart's Art Option students need to take their folders home by the end of today or they WILL be recycled!

  • Premier girls basketball tryouts are tonight for all gr 8’s, any gr 6 and 7’s that have been invited to come out and any gr 7’s who missed the first tryout.  Practice will run from 3:30 - 4:30. If you have any questions or can not attend please see Mrs. Dorash.

  • Last week for Home ec students to complete projects. The home ec room will be open tonight and Friday, and every morning at 7:30 for students that want to complete projects. All projects are due at the end of term which is  Friday, at 3:30.
 
  • Thank you to all the donations to Operation Christmas child, we had a large number of shoeboxes filled and returned. We are now collecting donations for the Beaumont Nisku Christmas Elves.

  • Attention Home ec students - The home ec room is open tonight after school BUT is NOT open tomorrow after school. The room is open after school Monday, Wednesday, Friday next week. The room is open every morning at 7:30 for any student that wants to work on their home ec projects.  ALL projects are due Friday, Nov. 29. - that’s the end of next week.
  • Music room practice today for the choir. Tomorrow the music room will be open for instrument practice.
  • All junior high band members are asked to see Mrs. Baron at the first recess break this morning for a very important note. This note is about your possible field trip so please remember to come.
  • Grade 7 & 8 students - all waterpark field trip forms are due back tomorrow!  Teachers, please remember to record the type of food each child has requested in the column for Lunch #1 or Lunch #2.  Please see Mrs. Verhoeff if you have questions!

  • Congratulations to the premier girls volleyball team for a great season. Unfortunately we did not bring home the banner but over the season we were ranked first place, we won a gold medal in last weeks tournament and 2nd place in the grade 9 senior girls tournament. Well done girls! Please make sure you hand in your jerseys to one of the Stewarts!
  • Big congrats to the District Boys Volleyball Team for winning silver at playoffs last night. The boys fought hard with both sets going to 24-26. It was a great season, Mr. Bohun is very proud of you and we’re looking forward to next season.
  • Congrats to the premier boys’ volleyball team for a great season!  Well done boys!  Please make sure to return your jerseys to Mrs. Duru or Miss Fedor before Friday.

    Girls have a shootaround tomorrow after school and their first tryout is on Tuesday at lunch.

  • We are looking for four student scorekeepers for tomorrows premier boys volleyball finals!  If you are interested, please see Mr. Mistol.
  • The moustaches are getting full and long.  Help your teachers shave them off and support research for men’s health!  Donate $1 to Mr. Bohun, Mr. Slade, Mr. Helgren, or Mr. Lewis and get your name entered to win an ice cream party for your class AND shave off a stash!

  • Congratulations to the Premier girls volleyball team who dominated the Father Michael Troy tournament and went undefeated in all of their matches to bring home the gold!  Well done girls.  Just a reminder that there is a volleyball practice today after school.
