Thursday, May 10th, 2012 Day 1

  • Congratulations to the following classes.  4/5 split Mr. McNamara and 5E Mme Lapointe for winning the pizza party for the completed registration forms. 
  • ATTENTION CHOIR MEMBERS: If you did not sign the thank you card for our festival piano and cello players, you need to go to the music room at the 10:30 recess TODAY and sign it before going outside. 
  •  
    ATTENTION BAND MEMBERS GOING TO OTTAWA: There will be a lunch hour practice today for all members going to Ottawa. Yes, the practice will be today at 12:20. Please write it down. This lunch hour practice is for ALL BAND MEMBERS going to OTTAWA and it will be today at 12:20.

    So once again, ALL band members going to Ottawa next week have a mandatory lunch hour practice today…which means YES, you ALL have to be there…today… at 12:20. 

    Write it on your hand, your arm, in your agenda and on your classroom whiteboard so you don’t forget! 
  • This is the last week to sign up to audition for the talent show. There is a great selection of acts already signed up, so please see Mrs. Baron by Friday if you are interested in being added to the audition list!
  • The 800m run will take place at 12:20pm today.  Please see the list posted on the athletic board to see if you have qualified.
  •  Girls floor hockey exhibition will be at noon today.  Ms. Stewart's team vs Mrs. Larson's team.
  • Elementary track practice today at noon.  Please meet on the soccer field.  Permission forms will be handed out, so please be there.
  • Students interested in running the Ring Road, please meet in the front foyer after school.  
  • Any students on Mr. Slade’s floor hockey team who are yet to pick up a schedule for tomorrow’s tournament, please see Mr. Slade today.

Wednesday, May 9, 2012 - Day 5

  • ATTENTION BAND MEMBERS GOING TO OTTAWA: There will be another lunch hour practice this week due to the lack of attendance at yesterday’s practice. The practice will be this THURSDAY. Please write it down. This lunch hour practice is for ALL BAND MEMBERS going to OTTAWA and it will be this THURSDAY at 12:20. if you are not there, you may not be going to Ottawa.

    So once again, ALL band members going to Ottawa next week have a mandatory lunch hour practice on Thursday…which means YES, you ALL have to be there…on THURSDAY… at 12:20. 

  • This is the last week to sign up to audition for the talent show. There is a great selection of acts already signed up, so please see Mrs. Baron by Friday if you are interested in being added to the audition list!

  • Floor hockey exhibition games continue at noon today.  The Mistol/Maltais Express put their undefeated season on the line against the Dargis Danglers.

    Would Mr. Slade’s floor hockey team please see him sometime during the day for an important letter to take home.
  • There will not be any track and field qualifying events today.
  • Today is Hats for mental health day! Wear your hat and show your support.

Tuesday, May 8, 2012 - Day 4

  • Registration forms are due. Please hand in to your teacher or the office.

  • Grade 7 & 8 option forms are due Friday, May 11.

  • Elementary track practice today at noon.  Please meet on the soccer field.

  • Students interested in running the Ring Road, please meet in the front foyer today after school.

  • Girls floor hockey exhibition games are today at noon.  Ms. Stewarts team will be playing against Mrs. Larson’s team.

  • Jr. High track and field qualifying will take place again at noon.  Today’s events are the 400m run, boys shot-put and girls javelin.  The names of those who have qualified will be on the athletic board.

  • All students going to Ottawa have a practice at lunch today. Please eat your lunch in your homeroom and be ready to play by 12:20

  • Tomorrow is Hat Day! Wear a hat to support positive mental health. Healthy minds bring healthy futures.

  • Congratulations to all the students who competed in the grade five spelling bee finals.

  • Exhibition floor hockey resumes again today at noon.  The undefeated “El Helegrino” will take on 0-1 “Hair is over-rated.”

  • Hot Lunch order forms are due today.

  • If you haven't already done so, please return the 2012-2013 school registration package as soon as possible.

Friday, May 4, 2012 - Day 2

  • Congrats to The Mistol Maltais Express (also know as Height is Over Rated) who narrowly defeated Hair is Over-Rated in overtime of their exhibition floor hockey game yesterday.  Mr. Slade would like to meet with the members of Hair is Over Rated at 12:40 today in room 109.
    Today’s matinee match-up features Dargis’ Danglers vs El Helegrino.  Please meet in the gym at 12 noon.

  • Anyone interested in running the Ring Road after school, please meet in the front foyer after school.

  • Great work at the Science Fair.

  • Elementary Girls’ Ball throw try-outs today at noon.  Please meet on the baseball diamond.

  • The answer to yesterday’s trivia question:  Tintin, Les Stroumpfs, Lucky Luke, Boule et Bill etc

  • Junior High 100m finals today at 12:00.  Meet on the field ready to run.

  • Activity Day has been postponed until Thursday, May 17th.

  • The answer to yesterday’s question:  Who is the famous French hockey player that played 17 years for the Pittsburgh Penguins and won 2 Stanley Cups in 1991 and 1992? Is Mario Lemieux.
    Today’s question is : Combien y a-t-il de pays dans le monde qui ont Français comme une de leurs langues officielles?
    How many countries in the world have French as one of their official languages?

  • The boys floor hockey teams for the May 11th tournament are now up!  Please go see which team you are on and when your noon hour exhibition games are.  Girls teams will be posted tomorrow.

  • The talent show is going to be happening during the afternoon of June 6th this year. Anyone interested in auditioning for the show is asked to see Mrs. Baron to sign up. Auditions are going to be taking place May 22, 23 & 24 during the lunch hour, so start planning your act today!

  • Band members going to OTTAWA are reminded of their lunch hour practice next Tuesday at lunch. Practice will begin at 12:20, so please make sure you have eaten your lunch and set up your instrument by then. 
     

  • Elementary Track Boys’ Ball Throw try-outs today at noon.  Please meet at the baseball diamond.  All students, please be aware that there will be ball throw tryouts at the baseball diamond at lunch, therefore the ball diamond is off limits. 

    • Science Fair is tomorrow.  Be sure to bring your projects tomorrow.

    • Early Dismissal today at 2:30 pm.

    • Congratulations to the three Lapointe players who participated at the Alberta Chess Challenge in Red Deer on April 21.

    • Guitar club tomorrow after school.
