Hoodie participants are invited for a pizza party lunch today at 12:15 in the drama room.

Lost and found...students check the lost and found for any large items. Smaller items such as glasses and jewelry can be claimed in the office.

The Year End Band and Choir concert is tonight at 7pm. Anyone performing should be set up and in the gym with your instrument by 6:50pm. Everyone is welcome and admission is free. Donations will be taken for the Thaddeus Lake Foundation, so please remind your families to bring a loonie or toonie to donate to this wonderful cause.

Bass players are reminded to bring their amps from home, so there are enough for everyone to play.
Teachers are reminded that gym set up will take place period 8.
June 15th is an important date to remember for band students
- blue Nationals interest forms are due
-April and May practice sheets are due
and students are needed to help with the Instrument Zoo starting at 6:30pm (please let Mrs. Baron know if you can help with this night)

FLEX - please ask your teacher to show you the FLEX sessions that will be offered next week.  There are lots of great sessions including: Zumba, 22 minute workout, tye dye, drumming, debate as well as many others including Mr Mistol’s session called “Mystery Sport”  Are you brave enough to choose it?  Gr 8 will sign up block 1 and 2, grade 9 block 3 and 4, followed by grade 7’s.   Sign up early to avoid disappointment!

Gr. 9 foods students need to hand in their completed activity 3 and 4 packages to Mrs. Nessel by 12:15 if they are planning on cooking on Thursday.

Any track and field athletes that have not handed in their uniforms need to do so immediately.

Girls attending Senior volleyball tryouts today after school, please be advised that you must be changed, and both nets set up for a 3:15pm start. Sign up sheets will be located on the whiteboard in the gym tomorrow

The Year End Band and Choir concert is this Thursday at 7pm. Students performing that night are to be at the school by 6:30pm, dressed in flip flops, shorts & tank tops or a light summer dress. Admission to the concert is free, but donations will be accepted at the door for the Thaddeus Lake Music Foundation.

Students going scuba diving during FLEX tomorrow are to meet in the band room at 10:02. The bus needs to LEAVE by 10:10am, so Mrs. Baron will be taking attendance at about 10:07. You do not need to bring your lunch, just your swimsuit and towel.

Mrs. Baron needs to hear from the band students that are willing to come help with the Instrument Zoo tonight. This is a time for the new students coming to play in the Grade 7 band next year to try out all the instruments. It starts at 6:30pm and will run about an hour. If you are willing to help with an instrument station, please let Mrs. Baron know at lunch! Helpers are needed for flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone, baritone and tuba. This is a great opportunity for those of you who need volunteer hours, so see Mrs. Baron over lunch if you can make it!

Just a reminder that preliminary tryouts for Senior Girls volleyball will be Tuesday and *Wednesday this week from 3:15-4:30pm. This is a change from the earlier schedule due to the band concert on Thursday. Any questions, please see Mme Stewart or Mrs. Kay

A reminder to the FLEX scuba students that you will be going to the pool this Wednesday. Please meet in the band room with your swimsuit, towel and anything else you need during the morning break. You will be leaving at 10:10am. You do not need to bring your lunch, as you will be back to the school by about 12:15.

Band and choir students are reminded that your Year End concert is this Thursday at 7pm. Everyone is invited to attend this great night of music!

Any grade 7 or 8 band members that have their blue Nationals interest letter are reminded to hand it in. The deadline for this letter is June 15th.

Also a reminder to all band students that practice sheets are due by June 15th. April or May will be accepted until then.

Vimy Ridge meeting - at 12:34 in the student lounge

Miss Jensen has got her fingers crossed for all of the grade 9 students auditioning today and tomorrow for the Musical Theatre program at the high school. Please let her know how it goes, she’s very excited for all of you. From all the staff here, break a leg!

A huge congratulations goes out to all of our track and field athletes who competed at zones yesterday in St. Albert.  Our team did extremely well with numerous top 6 finishes.  We also had four athletes win the zone 5 championship for their event. We are very proud of all of you!!

Kieren Sloan - Gold in Intermediate boys javelin with a throw of 41.15m
Percy Ashani - Gold in Intermediate boys triple jump with a score of 11.33m
Gabe Deruiter - Gold in the Intermediate boys 800m with a time of 2:15.90.
Kiana Row - Gold in the Senior girls 1500m with a time of 5:29.93.

Now that athletics is over for the season, the PE department would like to thank all of our athletes for an outstanding year.  We will be putting up a total of 10 banners this year.  A new JE Lapointe record.

Why did the mushroom get invited to all of the pizza parties?  Because he’s a FUNGI!!!!   PIZZA FRIDAY!!!Plus ice cream sandwich giveaways.

Grade 9 Farewell tonight 6:30-8:00

Congratulations to the talent show performers for a great afternoon of entertainment. Great job by all! Thanks to the MC’s, Janessa, Jordan and Hannah, as well as Mrs. Baron’s Grade 8 option class who helped set up the stage area!

Pokemon Club will be running today during the lunch hour in the Tech Ed Room.

There will be a talent show practice in the gym today for ALL performers over the lunch hour.  Please meet Mrs. Baron in the gym at 12:14 with your lunch. Classes coming to watch will be called down to the gym by1pm with the show running the entire afternoon. Good luck performers!

The year end band and choir concert is coming up next Thursday, June 9th, so practices will resume this week to prepare for that concert

Tomorrow - junior jazz at 7:30

There will be a meeting for the scuba diving FLEX students this Friday at 12:14. Please come to the band room with your lunch right after the bell. You will eat in the band room, not your homeroom.

Girls interested in Senior Girls’ volleyball - there was an email sent out to parents regarding June tryouts. These June tryouts will begin on Tuesday, June 7th after school until 4:30.
